Commercial composting accelerates the natural process of organic matter decay, which results in the formation of the critical part of soil fertility, humus. By carefully controlling the conditions under which decay occurs, Granger Compost Services is capable of producing humus or “compost” from yard clippings in nine months to one year.

Finished compost is an organic soil amendment which helps improve soil structure, water holding capacity, and soil microbial activity. It can be used to amend existing soil in flower or vegetable gardens. It is also excellent for top dressing existing lawns.

Granger has been operating a successful yard waste composting center in Lansing since 1992. The site design capacity is in excess of 40,000 cubic yards on 15 acres.

Granger Compost Services provides commercial composting services to the greater Lansing area.
